Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 27, 2026
Linkside is a peer-to-peer screen-sharing application operated by Sandeep Ghael. This policy explains what data Linkside handles, how it is used, and what is stored on your device.
Peer-to-peer by design
Video, audio, and screen-sharing streams travel directly between participants' browsers using WebRTC. Linkside servers never see, store, or process your media.
Signaling server
When you create or join a room, a lightweight signaling server at signal.linkside.io coordinates the WebSocket handshake so browsers can find each other. The signaling server handles only connection metadata (room IDs, session identifiers). No audio, video, or screen content passes through it. When a room ends, a summary record (room ID, country, duration, participant count, and whether a password or waiting room was used) may be retained for aggregate analytics. This record contains no media content, nicknames, or IP addresses.
TURN relay
When a direct peer-to-peer connection cannot be established (for example, due to restrictive firewalls), media is routed through a TURN relay server. All relayed media is end-to-end encrypted by the browser. The relay server does not store, inspect, or log the content of any media stream.
No accounts or sign-up
Linkside does not require you to create an account, provide an email address, or sign in. There is no user database.
No recordings
Linkside does not record, store, or archive any screen-sharing sessions. Once a room is closed, all media streams end immediately. Only the aggregate analytics summary described above is retained.
Local storage
Linkside stores a small amount of data in your browser's
localStorage:
- Theme preference -- your choice of dark or light mode.
- License key -- if you purchase a license, the key is stored locally to unlock premium features.
Your license key is sent to the Linkside signaling server when creating or upgrading a room so it can be validated. Theme preference stays local. You can clear this data at any time through your browser settings.
Cookies and tracking
Linkside does not use analytics cookies, tracking pixels, or fingerprinting. There are no third-party analytics scripts on this site.
Payments
License purchases are processed by Lemon Squeezy. When you make a purchase, Lemon Squeezy collects payment information under their own privacy policy. Linkside does not have access to your credit card number or billing details.
Third-party services
Linkside uses the following third-party infrastructure:
- Cloudflare -- hosting, CDN, and the signaling worker runtime.
- Lemon Squeezy -- payment processing for license purchases.
Each service operates under its own privacy policy. Linkside does not share personal data with these services beyond what is necessary for their operation.
Changes to this policy
If this policy is updated, the "last updated" date at the top of the page will be revised. Continued use of Linkside after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
